Dr. Maria Gintova, an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and the Master of Public Policy Program at McMaster University, has been honored with the 2024 J.E. Hodgetts Award by the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA). This prestigious award recognizes the best English article published in the journal Canadian Public Administration during the previous year.

Dr. Gintova’s award-winning article, “Public Service in Canada post?COVID?19 pandemic: Transitioning to hybrid work and its implementation challenges”, discusses the significance of the transition to hybrid work arrangements in the Public Service of Canada post-COVID-19 pandemic. Her research provides valuable insights into the attitudes and perspectives of public servants on remote and hybrid work.

The J.E. Hodgetts Award is named in honor of John Edwin Hodgetts, a foundational figure in Canadian public administration. The award highlights scholarly excellence and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Dr. Gintova’s achievement underscores McMaster’s commitment to impactful research and academic excellence in public administration. Her work offers practical implications for governments as they continue to implement hybrid work arrangements.
