McMaster Makes Its Debut at National Public Administration Case Competition

For the first time, McMaster University fielded a team in the 2025 National Public Administration Case Competition, hosted virtually by Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration from February 12 to 22, 2025.
The annual competition challenges graduate students to tackle timely and complex public policy issues. This year’s case, “It’s a Question of Ethics: RTO and Public Service Culture,” asked teams to weigh competing risks, develop strategic options, and recommend actionable responses to a public administration dilemma rooted in return-to-office mandates.
Representing McMaster were students Tuqa Al-Rammahi, Abdelraman Elsayed, Samar Khan, Dorothy Rodriguez, and Eileen Stephens, coached by Dr. Greg Flynn and Vass Bednar. The team joined 13 others from across Canada in an intensive week of research, analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
Their participation marks an important milestone for McMaster’s growing public policy programming and commitment to experiential learning.
